Whole-Person Behavior Analysis Rooted in Equity

Dunnigan Behavioral Consulting was founded with a clear mission. Every child deserves thoughtful, individualized behavioral support that recognizes the full picture of their life.

Based in the Washington DC region and serving families and organizations across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, the practice provides independent behavioral evaluations, consulting, and professional workshops designed to create meaningful change.

Our work focuses on understanding behavior in context. Environment, emotional regulation, cultural experience, and wellness all influence how children learn and interact with the world. When those factors are considered, better solutions emerge.

Meet Mikeya Dunnigan

Prince George's County Native Giving Back

Mikeya was born in Washington, D.C., was educated in the PGCPS school system and Graduated from Charles Herbert Flowers High School with honors in 2015. Mikeya then attended Pennsylvania State University where she studied Psychology and Sociology.

Mikeya joined various organizations that drove her passion for leadership. During her time at Penn State, Mikeya found a passion for behavior and working with individuals with Autism and Disabilities. Mikeya was awarded her dual degrees from Penn State in December 2018. In Fall 2019, Mikeya began graduate school at Michigan State University studying Applied Behavior Analysis, the study of the principles of behavior and the leading science to treat children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.

Mikeya pursued her credentialing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, the field's international governing body. Upon being awarded her Master`s degree in May 2021, Mikeya began her work as Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Maryland, Mikeya has been working as a clinician providing in home serves for almost 5 years now, directly helping children of color with Autism in the DC-MD Region.

Mikeya has a direct passion to help children of color get access to effective and safe treatment for Autism and other disabilities. Mikeya also uses trauma sensitive and compassionate care in her therapy approach with clients and their families. In 2025, Mikeya founded Dunnigan Behavioral Consulting, LLC. to help disseminate the science of Applied Behavior Analyst in everyday settings. Mikeya describes herself as a Humanistic Behavior Analyst Mikeya`s ultimate career goal is to open a multidisciplinary clinic where children of color in low income situations can get free therapy resources, trauma counseling, ABA Therapy services, academic tutoring, and mentorship while providing assistance with basic resources to family as well.

Mikeya is a young clinician with vigor for leadership, teaching, and second chances. Mikeya is dedicated to helping others become whole one behavior at a time!

Humanistic Behavior Analysis

Behavior analysis is most effective when it centers the whole person.

Assessments and recommendations are designed to move beyond surface behavior and identify the underlying factors that influence a child’s experience. This approach leads to practical strategies that support long-term success in school, community, and family settings.

Our services include independent Functional Behavior Assessments, behavior analytic consulting, educational workshops, and speaking engagements that help caregivers and educators build supportive environments.
